The Posh Shed Company supports Dementia Week

Health Benefits;The Southwold Posh Shed

The health benefits of gardening are widely reported. However, one area that is often overlooked is the positive impact that gardening can have on the lives of those with dementia.

The Alzheimer’s Society has carried out extensive work looking into the benefits of gardening for those living with Alzheimer’s. Gardening can be an enriching experience and contact with nature promotes wellbeing, reduces stress and lowers blood pressure – all contributing factors to the severity of the disease.

The multi-sensory stimulation of gardening and just simply being near plants has been linked with prompting memories and boosting enjoyment which can benefit those with dementia.

Supporting Alzhemier Society:

To support the work of Alzheimer’s Society, helping those with dementia to be more involved in gardening and to help them feel comfortable getting back out in the garden; The Posh Shed Company have agreed to donate 5% of the price of every Southwold Shed purchased in “Forget Me Not” blue to the charity’s ‘Forget Me Not’ campaign.
